The drive to the house takes you along the very scenic roads which snake their way across the Val d’Orcia, and on the journey you can begin to understand why this area is so famed for it’s beauty and its striking countryside. The house itself, is situated in a small valley, surrounded by olive groves and woodland and has stunning views of the untamed countyside which surrounds it. It is a perfect place in which to relax or to go for a beautiful walk into the heart of the Val d’Orcia, and where you can re-build your strength to cope with the stresses and strains of our modern lifestyle. The house has two floors: on the ground floor there is a kitchen, a sitting room, a bathroom and a storage room with a cantina attached (which has been converted into a bedroom). On the first floor, which you reach up an internal spiral staircase, there is a living room, three bedrooms and a bathroom. Externally there is a charming canopy made of wood which faces the kitchen, a perfect place to spend lazy summer days and in front of this there is the swimming pool. There is a beautiful garden which is planted with many established plants and trees including some oak trees, fruit trees and shrubs which grow well in this area. There is also an underground cantina and a small lake which has wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding area. |
